Starting Sunday in Chicago and lasting through Wednesday, 16 TV shows will be taped (all to be aired over the next two weekends) for the GEICO PBA Team Shootout. Four teams, each representing their sponsors, compete to determine brand supremacy. Last year, Storm Products took the title and are looking to defend against Ebonite International, Brunswick and 900 Global.
I enjoyed the event last year, although it felt like too much at once (multiple shows crammed together). Still, I prefer this method to the obvious alternative, which would be to broadcast one or two shows a week for the entire summer. That would get old quickly. This way, we can check in and out as we please, knowing there's always going to be bowling on TV, and that's a nice feeling.

Did 900 Global suddenly sign Walter Ray and put him on their team for the GEICO shootout?
Either that or he’s looking a lot like Melissa Bellinder-Parkin these days. I posted his name in error and have replaced it. Maybe I was subconsciously assuming someone would have to sponsor one of the all-time greats, as it boggles my mind he doesn’t currently have an equipment deal.
