The 2012-2013 PBA Tour schedule will stretch over 14 months as the Professional Bowlers Association transitions into a calendar-year format for the 2014 season. Because of that, this season will feature two separate World Series of Bowling events (and thus, two PBA World Championship titles will be up for grabs).
Also new this season are the PBA Winter Swing and PBA Summer Swing, which will be similar to the World Series in that multiple championships will be contested during a single event. With the PBA Winter Swing comes the inaugural season of PBA League bowling, in which eight teams of five, headed by last season's top competition-points earners, will compete to win the Elias Cup.
With five major championships over the course of 14 months and an improved TV schedule with ESPN, this season promises to be different from all that came before, as the PBA continues to try new ways to keep bowlers involved and keep fans interested.
Bold denotes a major championship. Events listed under an italicized heading (World Series of Bowling, Winter Swing and Summer Swing) are all part of that overall event. More details (and events) are expected to be announced, and will be added here as the PBA releases the information.
