Bowling Balls - Cover Stocks

Each bowling-ball cover stock is meant for a specific purpose. Understanding each cover stock is vital to creating your ideal arsenal and establishing a consistent game.

1. Plastic Bowling Balls

Plastic cover stocks repel the oil on the lanes and are ideal for throwing straight, non-hooking shots. Many bowlers use plastic bowling balls to pick up spares.

2. Urethane Bowling Balls

Urethane bowling balls generate more friction with the lane than plastic and take a gradual path to the pocket.

3. Reactive Resin Bowling Balls

Reactive-resin bowling balls soak up the oil, creating more hook potential than other cover stocks, thus entering the pocket at stronger angles with more strike potential.
