Question: What if My Ball Hits Something on the Lane?
Answer: This should be extremely rare, as you should always be able to tell if some foreign obstacle is on the lane before you bowl. If there is, get an employee and have him or her remove the obstacle.
However, if you throw a ball and a ceiling tile falls onto the lane, striking your ball, that's a dead ball. The pins will be respotted, the lane will be cleaned up, and you'll get another shot, without penalty.
This applies to any foreign obstacle, whether it be a horrendous shot from an adjacent lane that ends up on yours or an overzealous person who stupidly jumps onto your lane and interferes with the ball.
