There's an obvious connection between Thanksgiving and bowling: turkeys. People eat turkeys on Thanksgiving, people attempt to throw turkeys in bowling. On the bowling score sheet, a turkey, which is three strikes in a row, looks like this: XXX.
And that fun little coincidence leads me to my ridiculous what-I'm-thankful-for statement. When people search the internet for XXX, some of them end up here, on bowling.about.com, reading something I wrote about turkeys (this is true - it shows up in my site stats). And that makes me happy.
